Finishing Your Project

Do you ever enter your projects into contests? If so, I hope you are finishing the inside of your cards just as nicely as the outside. My sample here shows how I finished the inside of a card that won a first place ribbon. And it uses the same stamps and ink that you would use on the front of the card so there’s no need for extra supplies other than if you are layering like I did here. But if you only use your cards to send to friends and relatives, they will love the extra touches you add when you finish your project on the inside as well!

Sample Layout Card

Do you ever make a card that you don’t actually plan to mail out? After an extremely stressful week, I had to take a breather to do some crafting. I’ll probably redo this card soon to add more details, better coloring, etc., but for now the layout works as an example for a future card; plus you can use it to get started on your own card.

Christmas Card

In keeping with a simple monochromatic theme for my upcoming Christmas card class, I gave this card a pop of color with gold foil and a pretty little gold poinsettia. Although difficult to see on the photo, I embossed the top layer of cardstock with the subtle embossing folder that perfectly matches the gold foil layer. Remember, since you can’t see any foil behind the top layer, you can use just a frame of foil and keep the cut out center piece for another project.
