Thank You Card

Rather than color all the details of this pretty stamp, I used a circle punch to remove a small section of the stamped image, then used the Spotlight technique to color just the small punched out portion. I then offset the colored piece by raising the rest of the card with dimensionals, and replacing the colored section without dimensionally raising it. A simple way to draw your attention to a section of the image without all the trouble to color the entire image.

Thank You Card

Although there’s a bit of fussy cutting, here’s a really quick card for Fall. I love these warm, inviting fall colors. Almost makes me want to light the fireplace and grab a piece of pumpkin pie!

Thanks Card

What a great way to say Thanks by sending a card with a bunch of sunflowers. I wanted to use the sample in Stampin’ Up!’s catalog but didn’t want to make my card that size, so I tweaked it a bit. I love how perfectly my background paper worked on this project. And I chose to use dimensionals to pop up the large flowers.

Layered Dies

When you buy detailed die sets do you ever think about layering several die cuts over each other? Here I used the Detailed Bands die set and layered 4 different dies on top of each other. I love the elegant look. And the addition of the gold metallic cardstock really pops. So don’t be afraid to experiment with using several die cuts as well as several different colors on the same project. You may be surprised at the wonderful new look you create. And if it doesn’t look that great to you, then you can always save those die cuts for another project. And a little bling doesn’t hurt either!

Thanks So Much card

I like to save copies of cards I’ve made so I can reuse the design ideas over and over. But sometimes I need more info than just looking at a picture, so I save a sample layout/design in a basket of cards. This way I can easily pull out the card I want to recreate and get the exact cutting dimensions I will need.
